Dare To Dance
Dare To Dance Schools
What is Dare to Dance?
Dare to Dance is a community-based program that provides equitable access to arts education and opportunities to underserved communities through the arts of dance. Dare to Dance (D2D) is designed to partner with community schools to provide both in-school and afterschool opportunities for students Through rigor, discipline, and opportunity, IDC will expose students to more than just a program, but a family of artists that will nurture and educate their gifts to the next level and resources available to them.
How To Become A D2D Partnering School.
Our goal is to plant our feet in the eastern and western Indianapolis communities. However, we are open to partnering with any schools that have the vision to expose their students to the art of dance. Interested schools should connect with our Chief Program Officer, Roland Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org. He will give you a complete run-through of the program and match you with the best instructor for your students.
All school partners will receive their own D2D instructor that will work with your cohort of aspiring dancers during the duration of the program. Additional program perks are listed below.
Annual performances and Programs
Discounted tuition for students who enroll within our academy
6 to 12 weeks of programming
Students will perform in our annual production
Students will have access to college scholarships and auditions to nationally recognized dance programs
Program Funding Opportunity
Equitable access to programming is a big portion of our strategic plan in 2021. Access and opportunities available for black and brown communities is the very essence of why this program was developed. IDC is looking to expand our reach within the Warren and Pike Township as the need has been expressed for arts programming. We are seeking support and funders to help us establish local sites within these communities to address the transportation barrier that many of our families face. Local access within these communities will bring;
Academy Access for Students
Workforce Development Opportunities For Students
Arts Education and Leadership Opportunities For Dancers
